News > Three Reasons to Live in a Loft or Condo in LoDo

Urban living has never been more popular. Gone are the days when people only migrated downtown to work then retreated to the suburbs after hours. Denver’s LoDo is no exception. Situated in the northern part of downtown, LoDo has undergone a dramatic revitalization over the past twenty years. In addition to top-notch restaurants, nightlife, shopping, and sporting events, the area is known for its lofts and condos which vary from urban lofts in historic buildings to luxury condos in high-rise buildings.

Here are the top 3 reasons people want to live in LoDo

Reason #1 -  Proximity

Perhaps the biggest draw to living in an urban center, LoDo included, is proximity to the action. From LoDo, you can easily access sporting events at Coors Field and Pepsi Center, listen to a local band at any number of clubs, dine al fresco at a variety of restaurants, or cross the Millennium Bridge to visit Commons Park.  Proximity to activities and restaurants is one of the main reasons our clients contact us to consider a condo or loft here.

Reason #2  - Character

Another reason to live in a loft or condo in LoDo is for the unique character of this neighborhood. Denver began where the Platte River and Cherry Creek merge, now the site of Confluence Park, just west of LoDo. As a result, LoDo is one of the oldest parts of the city. Here you will find historic buildings rich in architecture, like the Franklin Lofts, many of which are on the National Register of Historic Places, and whether you're living in a historic loft or just walking down a street with these historic buildings, you can't find another place with this kind of character in the western part of the United States.

Reason #3 - Culture and Learning

A final reason to live in a loft or condo in LoDo is its location in relation to cultural and educational opportunities. Directly across Speer Boulevard is Auraria campus, a single urban campus that is home to the University of Colorado Denver, Metro State University, and the Community College of Denver. Work toward a degree or just take classes of interest. Or take one of the city’s free shuttles to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Colorado Ballet, or Denver Public Library. If museums are your preference, the Denver Art Museum, Colorado History Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art are a bike or shuttle ride away.

So now that we've convinced you that LoDo is worth looking at, you'll have to PICK A BUILDING.  May we suggest the Waterside Lofts , a 13-story building featuring 164 units. Located on the west side of LoDo, Waterside Lofts are close to Pepsi Center, Six Flags Elitch Gardens, and the Cherry Creek bike path. Walk or bike to the Denver Aquarium and the enormous REI flagship store. Units feature ten-foot ceilings, open floor plans, and large balconies to enjoy stunning Rocky Mountain or Denver skyline views.

There are more lofts and condos in LoDo to choose from. You can find out more about what's available on our LoDo page.
